Behind the scenes
We Got Into the Google for Startups Cloud Program
Narratica was accepted into the Google for Startups Cloud Program with $2,000 in cloud credits. How the application went, and what the credits let us do.

Every story in Narratica is written by an AI model, and every reply costs money. For a small team paying for everything ourselves, that is a number we think about a lot.
So we applied to the Google for Startups Cloud Program, and we got in with $2,000 in Google Cloud credits.
How it went
After we sent the application, nothing happened for a while. Then someone from Google got in touch. She asked us to add a few things to our website, we added them, and she approved us. This time we didn't have to pitch on a stage.
What the credits are for
Narratica's stories run on Google's Gemini models, so the credits go into what costs us the most: generating your stories.
Mostly they let us experiment. We can try better models and new ways of telling stories without worrying about what every test costs. We need that right now, because we are building a new AI engine for Narratica and that takes a lot of testing.
Thank you to the Google for Startups team for giving us a chance. If you want to follow what we build with it, join us on Discord.
