Choosing a persona
How the character you pick changes the story you get.
Before a story starts you pick who you are, from the protagonists the scenario offers. Later you will also be able to pick a persona you wrote yourself Coming soon. You play that character for the whole story, and the choice changes more than the name at the top.

The same scene, two ways Coming soon
Take the scenario where guards have you cornered by the forge, and walk into it twice.
The first time you are a protagonist: the rune-marked mechanic the author wrote for this scenario. The world already counts on you, because the author put you in it: the guards know who you are, you know what the pressure plate does, and the scene is about leverage. Every character reacts to you the way the author meant them to.
Once personas are in the app, the second time you could be a persona of your own: a stranger who wandered in, or anyone else you can think of, because a persona is whoever you write. Nobody in the world was expecting you. The plate is a hot slab of metal, the guards are just guards, and the same scene is about escape.
A protagonist is someone the world was written around, and a persona is someone you bring into it.

How to pick
Read the character's title before the name, because the title is the short version of what they are in this world, and it tells you what the scene will feel like from inside their head. If you want more than the title, tap the character's card to open their page. It has their portrait, their description, and the world they belong to.

If two options look equally good, take the one you know less about, since you can always play the scenario again as the other.
You cannot switch mid-story
Your character is fixed once the story starts
To play as someone else, start the scenario again. The new story is separate, and your first one stays where it was.
The story keeps its own copy of the character you picked, so later changes to that character in the world do not reach a story you already started.
